Oak Tree Poem by Lilly James

Oak Tree

She huddles up under an oak tree
Red, orange, yellow and brown
From the automs leaves
She's crying mourning the death
Of something so precious to her
The life of her grand mother
The leaves fly around her
Causeing her tear stained face
To lift up and search the horrizon
With its swollen blood shot eyes
Theres no wind to rustle the leaves
So why must they fly around her
Why do they circle around her
Are they mocking her pain
She's searching for answers
Why do they do this
Why did she have to die
Things she'll never understand
As the dead leaves flutter around her
She's reminded of the one
She's missing, who loved fall
She had once said
Leaves dances hold magic
They are the spirits taken away
Set free with the comming of fall
They are freed into the wind
After hinding all winter
Then being born into the plants
The souls of the dead are freed in the fall
