Walls of the worn-out life
Are now caving in
Day by day.

The windows of the senses
Are being closed
All rusted
In the fragile body
Shrinking with age.

Now insight door opens
Inside for realization
Of true self and worth.

No affinity is truly closer
To my soul
Than your selfless love
Profound for me.

With ever soothing foliage
Of your tender hands
Over my youthful heart
I was jovial and elated
During the spring time
In the pleasant bower
Of our lifelong togetherness.

From the piercing shafts
Of the scorching sun
Of the cruel autumn years
I am more relieved
And more secured
In the dreary desert of my aging life;
For you alone are to me
An oasis of love and peace!
