Observances Of Lent.
Almsgiving, prayer,
and fasting shall purify me.
It is a time of self-denial,
a time of fasting and abstaining.
It is a time of prayer in intensity.
It is the primacy of charity or love,
It is the primacy of the common
good over the individual good.
This is the opening of our actions
to a more dedicated universal love.
(Season of Lent is the name of the fastingseason in churches)
