Obsession Poem by Angela Wybrow

Obsession

The seeds of obsession have been sewn,
And you're finding that time is no longer your own;
In this spider's web, you have been trapped,
And now your future life is being mapped.

In no time at all, your life has changed:
It is being controlled; it has been rearranged.
I watch you drifting further away,
And there's nothing I can do to make you stay.

You tell the world that nothing is wrong,
But you have been hurting for way too long;
You need to be strong and turn the tide,
And jump off of this nightmare fairground ride.

As a person, you have totally changed:
Your heart's full of fear and piercing pain;
I wonder if you have the slightest clue
That you're no longer the man who I once knew?

I really wish that you could break free,
And you could be the man you used to be;
But you continue on with all this madness,
Causing us heartache and deep down sadness.

If you came back and you tried again,
You could rid yourself of all this pain;
You could spread your wings; fly free as a bird,
But your lips need to speak those unspoken words.
