Odd Couple Poem by Ima Ryma

Odd Couple

There once was a porcupine that
Wanted to find himself a bride.
Though almost as blind as a bat,
He searched throughout the countryside.
At last he bumped into Miss Right,
A prickly prize - so shy and still.
Yes, it was love at first blurred sight.
He wooed her well with sharpened quill.
His courtship whirled around and round -
Day in, day out, sunrise, sunset.
But still she made no move nor sound.
She must be playing hard to get.

Who says that a porcupine can't
Fall in love with a cactus plant?
