Ode To My Late Aunt: (Died 20 April 2012)

Most people perceive
Death as dreadful
A thief which steals
Our beloved ones
Without notice
Or consent
But when I look
At your ten years
Of suffering;
Half paralyzed,
Undefined body
I see your death
As your delivery
From pain and suffering
Even though it took you
By surprise,
Because we were
Used to your illness
And perceived it
As your disability
I thank God
For setting you free
May your soul
Rest in peace!
Death is just
A short sleep and rest
From earthly pains and sufferings
Time will come
When we will meet again
In the New Jerusalem
Where death
Shall be no more
There will be no more
Pain and suffering.
Death, pain and suffering
Will vanish forever
Eternal life, joy and happiness
Shall render
