Of Darkness Poem by Sasanka Sekhar Panda

Of Darkness

Rating: 4.5

Before all shuts down for darkness
you promised to come to me.
I thought it a green signal
beckoning from the
flower garden of your heart.

I have spent ages
to see a spark in your blue eyes
but alas!
now I have no eyes to watch it
transcending the limitless blue sky
and now
the long-wedded chains have broken
and now
for me,
you are nothing but a mist.

In the meantime
many evenings have passed
now I have turned into an island
lying in an ocean of
solitude and seclusion.

I can't believe those blue eyes
turning into stones
from where no tears shall fall again
for me
a known stranger.

I am a lone wanderer in the ruined city
where monsters crawl on filthy carpets.
I have learnt a hard lesson
and I have promised not to look back
I know
one day you will certainly remember me,
and find me lying lifeless
in the dark alley of your memory.

I can't believe those blue eyes turning into stones from where no tears shall fall again for me a known stranger- - Wonderful poem on lost love, when close people become strangers.
