Of Maenads And Beautiful Beasts Poem by James Long II

Of Maenads And Beautiful Beasts

Give me rain, give me envy, give me excess, just not rest.
Give me passion, give me failure, give me struggle give me test

Light a bomb in my forlorn heart
Blow apart my convictions, end the charade.
Tear the flesh and the mask apart,
Bind the beast to the seraph, pen to the blade.

I'll be empire, I'll be war, I'll be poetry, I'll be more.
Toss the till out, let it roar.
Ride the spiral, what's in store.
Half a mind away, no more lies to say, bring me fire today
Break the wheel.
Want the ground to shake, want mistakes to make, I want risks to take
No more deals

Jerusalem with my own two hands
On my own two feet, redemptive seed.
Kali Yuga drum beat in every breath,
Love in every death
I've got rules to bleed.

Evermore.
