Of The Praises Of Paupers Poem by Francis Duggan

Of The Praises Of Paupers

Of the praises of paupers you won't hear many sing
To be lacking in money is such a sad thing
It does seem an impossible trek to renown
For those from the bleak streets of the poor side of town
We all have life choices you do hear some say
Those who look at life in their own narrow way
Those who have always had more than enough for to eat
And do not know what life's like on Poverty Street
Few ever achieve the life dreams they pursue
And that money speaks every language happens to be true
Those of the no fixed abode none do celebrate
The poor never seen as an asset to the State
Money speaks every language why otherwise pretend
The millionaire is one never short of a friend.
