.....Of Virgin Hearts Poem by June FeirCruz

.....Of Virgin Hearts

Rating: 5.0

It is a sad fact that in our lifetime not all of us have the good fortune
to be with just one man.
Most of us practiced serial monogamy, till we find the right one.
In this culture: the women play the field when they are single
And settle down when they find the right partner.

In other cultures as a friend of mine once told me:
The women remain virgins till the consummation in their marriage bed
Only to let loose once married
He said he had a long talk to his future wife to always be honest and true.
He surely doesn't want to come home and find her in bed with a man or two.

What most of us never admit is that:
We never want to envision our lovers
To ever have been with someone other than us
We like to think we are all 'virgins' and fresh each time
Alas, we are not - but our HEARTS try and beat as one.

So, the difficult task of imagining a lover in bed with others before us:
In sweaty copulation with attractive and not so attractive partners
Must be thrown out the window and we must feel grossed out only once
Never to revisit those thoughts again is just.

If only it were that simple though, hey sis. Even though we marry who we think is the right 'one' and cheating never crosses our minds, we still have that nagging thought in the back of our minds that says 'caution' and we discard it as being paranoid. So what if he has to work until one in the morning at an office that closes at five in the afternoon. So what if he is goiong to the bar to bond with his male friends, and doesn't come home for a day or two. Does that mean he is cheating? YOU BET IT DOES! Unless something drastic has happened that landed him in the hospital, or worse, there is no excuse not to come home to his waiting wife every day. Not one excuse. Now he may have had car trouble, but wouldn't he call? He may have stopped to get groceries for dinner, but wouldn't he call? He should. No matter what the reason or excuse, he should call to say he will be a little late. And this even goes for women too. They should always come home to their husband, or call and say she will be a little late. Thank you sis for sharing this very true poem of how people who are married, engaged, or just living together should treat the ones they live with. Unless of course the relationship is platonic. Love & hugs, Barbara
