Of Where Everyone Knows Everyone Poem by Francis Duggan

Of Where Everyone Knows Everyone

Where everyone knows everyone it is that sort of town
Yet like everywhere not nice to live in for the financially down
Where if you have lots of money you enjoy local fame
But the one struggling on in life few wish to know by name

Where everyone knows everyone they does not welcome change
And the stranger treated with suspicion and looked upon as strange
They believe that they are a friendly community but outsiders with them on this would not agree
That they are not who they think they are a welcoming community

Where everyone knows everyone money your ticket to fame
But those who struggle on in life few wish to know of by name
No different from anywhere else only true to say
Just much like every other town in the World of today

Where everyone knows everyone money says more of you
Than honesty, kindness and compassion could ever hope to do
An ordinary enough old town like every other where
There are millions of such places in the bigger world out there.
