Ogbuagu (Dedicated To Professor Frank Onukwuli, Ochubalu Enyi Zogbue Agu N'Okodu)

Rating: 5.0

I was chasing a small elephant,
Big as it was, yet active as an ant,
In Mother Nature's awesome wild.
It was fast, yet sublime and mild.
I needed its tusk for my crown
And I just had to wrestle it down
It was indeed an arduous task
Its might was no summer bask.

A tiger came by as I mustered might.
In my speed I ran over it in fright.
Fatally wounded it tumbled and fell
I batted it like a cricket ball
It flew two wholesome meters grand
And plunged down on its head.

The elephant sauntered faraway;
Robust, stone-still, my baby tiger lay.
I staggered home with my game
Heavy on my back, to sound fame.
Amidst awe I arrived to nerve and cheers.
My title was redeemed amidst joy and tears

So, in life's unpredictable rift
Through the unknown, we drift;
What we get we sometimes distinguish
As not what we set out to accomplish
But, our needs ultimately expound
As soul and destiny track and conclude.
