Oh Jacaranda Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Oh Jacaranda

Oh Jacaranda

Oh Jacaranda, you surprise my eyes
With purple beauty such a surprise.
You are my sidewalk carpet that lies,
Rolled out in a stretch, I could never sketch.

Oh Jacaranda, your tree does know
How purple it's purple flowers grow.
My mind never did struggle you see
To watch Jacarandas leaning towards me.

The entire tree with the Jacaranda full.
I want to see many more on the ground
With beauty on the trees
And sidewalk abound.

Oh Jacaranda, you attack my eyes
With your purple I never despise.
I walk on your purple carpet to both see
The sidewalk covered with Jacaranda from the flowery tree.
