Oh, Love Where Are You Poem by Rosemond Akuokoh

Oh, Love Where Are You

Love where are you!
Oh love where are you.
You come and go like annual seasonal change
We searched for you diligently
Even in the darkest part of the earth
Only to find anger, bitterness, selfishness, envy, jealousy, hurt, revenge and unforgiveness clothed in disguise to be love
Yes, all in the bid to cause confusion, hatred and division among humanity

How we long for your embrace and to feel the warmth of your breast
The soothe, comfort and security which you carry along
Would you ever come again and for how long would you stay?
Please come and stay with us forever
Teaching us how to live in harmony and respect for each other
Lest we kill the people around us
Before we realise the joy of fellowshipping with one another

Love where are you!
Oh love where are you
What should we do in preparation for your coming and stay?
Should we lay a carpet flanked with rose flowers for you to walk majestically on?
Or clear the attic of our house making it friendly and conducive?
Tell us what you desire
And we we would be at your service
Because all we need is you
Yes, you and you only is what we ever need in this house
