Oh my dear rain
You come from the sky
Didn't you see from there
The story of a boy
Who had been waiting
Every single moment
For this day to come
With so much excitement
He used to wait for you
Almost like a peacock
He didn't know that on this day
You'd give him such a shock
In poems, stories & movies
You come with a superb timing
But in this case your arrival
Left no silver lining
The poets associate you
With love and romance
And in the first rains
The couples usually dance
But sometimes in reality
You cause the lovers dismay
By stopping them from meeting
And blocking their way
How could you submerge
Our meeting place to quarter
It was already sunken in love
There was no room for your water
I've always loved you
And I still happen to
But this kind of malice
Trust me, doesn't suit you
And just tell that lightening
That comes with you for free
Not to scare that girl
When she's coming for me
Had you both arrived
A little later today
I would have welcomed you
And even asked you to stay
For then we'd have been
Seeking shelter under bowed stems
I would have been with her
And not here writing poems
I'm angry but I can't
Afford to hurt you
For my love story would be
Incomplete without you
I hope you'll compensate
This ill-timed arrival later
By coming there next time
When I am with her
Since when I see
You and her together
It looks as if pearls
Are falling over amber
Although in my life
I've seen such days seldom
But still, next time
I'll wait for you to come.
