Oh My King! Poem by Kayla Kempf

Oh My King!

Oh my king! Where hath they been?
We’ve search the gardens, the grave yard.
Oh my king! We’ve no sight of your men.

Oh my king! Where hath your army been?
-We have search the stables and the docks,
Oh my king! Where have they been?

Oh my king! We haven’t seen them since,
The morning dew was new and my breath was cold.
Still, no sight of your men.

Oh my king! I found thy men,
For they have been sleeping at their stations,
What shall I do with them?

Oh my king! Now here they come!
Ready the men! Arm the weapons!
Get ready for war! Station the men!

Oh my king! We have lost the war.
They are all shot dead.
The British are taking over.
You must come with me or the same to you.
