Oh, please!
Should writing poetry by a painful experience?
To rhyme, or not to rhyme.............
That is the question, it seems;
Does it really matter?
If I choose to use one style
And you choose to use another,
What difference does it make?
Is there a book of rules
That dictates what is and isn't correct?
If we cannot find pleasure in the writing
Or the reading of our and others' work,
Then we should be pursuing
Other interests
To occupy our time.
There is little enough joy in this world -
Let us be grateful
For those who create beauty and pleasure
In whatever form it appears.

'There is little enough joy in this world - Let us be grateful For those who create beauty and pleasure In whatever form it appears.' These lines are amazing Linda.
this is very true indeed...poetry is all about enjoyment...and i do believe one should NOT restrain himself to one such frame work and lines..i totally agree...it mostly about expressing oneself....well i agree with you totally..and you said it very well indeed..thanks with love shan (hey ma'am i just edited this comment)
Hear hear, Linda my love. Words spoken by a true poet about the joy of personal expression and the delightful surprises of difference. Poets are the chroniclers of the personal and the divine; the political and the mundane; the esoteric and the silly. God love us all. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I completely agree with Tara. When the writer is more invested in form they lose their ability to tell the message they're trying to get across. I'd love to see this poem posted in the forum! ! ! Good job Linda! Ashley xo
L, if I could, I would vote a million squillion points plus one. If only your message might be taken on board. Alas, eloquence and truth does not suffice for some. This is one to be shouted from the PH rooftops. t x
