Amid the clouded, alcoholic meanderings of a misguided, overbearing self grandiose mindset and a vain attempt to gather credibility through hedonistic themes… Umm
It appears Charles did have a few moments of supreme clarity.

Two truths in one poem...'there are worse things than being alone' and 'nothing worse than too late'
So, too late is worse than being alone...almost contradictory. But, not if it expresses what I WISH for it to convey...there are worse things than being with the wrong person...but nothing...nothing compares to having missed out on the right one.
