Oh You Who Support Poem by Francis Duggan

Oh You Who Support

Oh you who support class distinction you admire the aristocracy
Though they have done about as much for you as through the years they've done for me
And that surely is absolutely nothing as you are not much better off financially than I
And financially I am a poor fellow to say differently would be a lie.

'Tis because of your type and like you there are many that we have the social divide
They look on the unfortunates as somehow less worthy and as people who must lack in pride
But the great equalizer is the reaper since he makes us all equal one day
The monarch must die like the pauper as Shirley the poet once did say.

Oh you who support globalization and your type believe me not rare
That the rich keep getting rich whilst the poor are getting poorer do you not think that it is unfair
That Global Bureaucrats are exploiting poor people at polarization of the poor they've found another way
And the few super wealthy at the expense of many grow wealthier in the World of today.

Oh you who are so naive in your thinking to believe that the class divide is okay
You do not seem to realize that the child of polarized parents is the suicide bomber of today
The person all others see as bad what right have we to be his judge
'Tis not hard to create bad people you only need give them a reason for a grudge.
