Old Poem For The New World (I Want To Go Home) Poem by Lauren Michaels

Old Poem For The New World (I Want To Go Home)

Oh please.
Take care of me.
Let me put aside
Resentment and Vitriol
Outright defiance and denial.

And take all the devastating
Dualistic choices from me.

I need
Finally to rest
To detach
From the painstaking
Stake of every claim

So take all the brutal
Breaking burdens from me

I want
Just for once
To be weak,
Without shame
For the ease of it.

So Here I'm asking you please
Take care of me.

I wont ask again.
