Olympian Ali Poem by Ima Ryma

Olympian Ali

Muhammad Ali - one more round
Of the Olympics - London style.
Now a sports icon, world renowned.
Two thousand twelve - it's been a while
Since nineteen sixty, there in Rome,
An unknown boxer did compete,
And did bring the gold medal home,
Rarely then on knowing defeat.
But Parkinsons punches about
His body leaving him so weak.
Ali's determined - no knock out.
He still has lots of life to seek.

And so beneath Olympic rings,
An inspiration Ali brings.
