Omen Of Emptiness - Poem by Spike Milligan

The clock has turned enough
to reach a planet
Life is endless night
I hear wings beating in
the dark of my room
A giant Raven is waiting –

for me to fall asleep.

I favor this kind of poetry. Whimsical and humorous have their place in life- but not mine at the moment. This fits right in. Tomorrow maybe the light-hearted will be more than welcome. That is the cool thing about literature- there is a flavor for every person for every mood for every journey. (Report) Reply
