On A Rainy Day Poem by Gayathri Menokee

On A Rainy Day

I've been walking in silence
through this way for years.
Each day nature showed me a new face,
sometimes shiny, sometimes windy,
but of all I like it rainy.

It comes down from the heaven
like the tears of the clouds,
crying for the loss of something,
may be for the loss of it's loved ones
that were taken away by the winds.

Maybe it is crying for loss of human emotions
for loss of love in the hearts;
for loss of peace perhaps,
men lost in arguing over money and more,
not seeing what they really need is lost.

These tears have come down for a reason,
they have come down to wash away our sorrows;
to fill our souls with a new life;
to remind us we are born with a mission,
asking us to fulfil it.

Such days I'm a happy person,
with my past haunting me no more,
only helping me relive the lessons I've learned
with all my sins forgiven and my eyes opened,
only to help me see who I've become.

Rainy days remind me of everything good in life;
of every beautiful thing in this world,
it reminds me of God's greatness;
of all His wonderful creations,
even myself.
