On A Time Poem by Jonathan Colby

On A Time

Heralding with gilded words,
stoking the intention
of an embellished refreshment,
I spoke out Lunacy in the soft
issue from your fire
To retreat, as by habit
into the persecution of a Daynight
So it was that I considered; conceived
of a pain that steals the voice,
thrusts it violently, deep,
into the summative congestion that holds
the heart hostage
Pierces it thus with a knife
of betrayal, deprived
of an ordinal privilege
A courage of some end swells
Desire is acknowledged;
choice petitioned entertains no reluctance
Overwhelmed, on a sudden,
love evoked wielding fury
Eyes and chest, tight and swollen
On a moment, you reached into my palm,
clenched my awe; you said to me then,
and I heard with drowning sight,
'Could You please get me some water? '
On a time, on that night,
physics dissolved,
as the perfect interference
evinced our nth harmonic
