On Ice Poem by Levi Hamlin

On Ice

Rating: 5.0

The sky in teetering freezing
Makes a rain appear in thrice.
Flakes fall upon a surface
Entirely covered in ice.

The winters clothing conceals all,
Two gaze down an unseen path.
Mystery and desire
Shall begin their footsteps to track.

Step by step crack the ice beneath.
Marvelous is such weather,
For silence is mistaken
And any noise is a treasure.

Stories arise and smiles appear
Next kicking snow as child's play.
Watching clouds above depart
Illuminate a single ray.

Silence again began to grow
Except cracking ice below.
Happy to have each other
Their hearts, however
They gave to another.

The path at end,
Yet snow untouched,
They turned around
And retraced their steps.
