On My Knees Poem by Kinyua Karanja

On My Knees

Words will never totally express it
The sincere apology of my heart
Drowning in deep and serious regret
Torrential tears rains in my heart
For the pain, grief and anger
You undergone due to my blunder
How stupid, irrational and inappropriate
Letting loose my feelings in such state
Getting carried away by the moody air
The romantic chanter and banter
Stimulated and altered my judgement
It was embarrassing, I learnt that later
To a person of your character
And respectable reputation
You didn’t deserve such treatment
I handled you in a very humiliating manner
It wasn’t my intention to create
Such awkward and uncomfortable situation
I believe my insensitive behavior will not
Jeopardize our love and friendship
I have an exceptional respect for you
I would never think of losing you
Remember the nice moments we shared
The nice jokes we exchanged
The educative stories we shared
I hope you will be able to forgive
I believe you will be able to forget
I am sure acquiring this insight
I have learnt to control myself
And I will prevent such case in future
Please accept my apology
Let us move on like before
As if nothing has happened

Yours in love…
