On Slater's Mind - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

I am Slater, a harbor seal.
I am one of the four seals who
Think the Seal Pool is a good deal
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo.
Though in the wild, harbors do be
The fav location of my kind,
This safe Seal Pool is fine with me,
Having no harbor, I don't mind.
Oft times upon a rock I'll park,
And watch the visitors go by.
Maybe I'll give a friendly bark,
Cuz I am just a friendly guy.

Though never known a harbor spill,
This seal does harbor no ill will.
