On The Barrenness Of The Desert Poem by RIC BASTASA

On The Barrenness Of The Desert

it does not mean that on that arid desert
where barrenness defines itself
in an ocean of sand
a space of heat
a huge territory of howling silence,

be surprised when soon you stop and look upon a little patch
a very tiny violet flower says
love lives here
love lives here.
