On The Ferry Poem by Robert Melliard

On The Ferry

It's peaceful here - high up
above this ship's huge prow -
in a quiet 'observation lounge'.

No engine noise,
a mellow up-and downy sway
and seasick pills and G-and-Ts combine
to leave you floating on a gentle cloud
as you scan blurred waves for hours
in search of dolphins and elusive whales.

A variation on a theme -
a way to limit pain.
