On The Highway Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

On The Highway

On the highway

On highways, I always
-am called in for a race
-with others, or myself
-and mostly with the girls

She passed me, I trailed
-she zigzagged, fooled herself
-I went as do turtles
-and got her and passed her

Then again she was fast
-crossed by,
-passed me, passed
-and the same repeated
-both of us were aware

I passed and pulled to right
-after giving signal
-she did same
-while passing watched, glanced

Suddenly she took off
-an exit and was gone

Made me feel like orphan…
