The title
plus the smooth, orange pooze
of the apricot season
plus the orange of an orangutan
combine in my mind,
which comes up with the bender,
'I coulda been an orange contender.'

Jan 15,2018. Marlon Brando's Terry Malloy, in 'On The Waterfront'(1953) , says 'I coulda been a contender' for a boxing title if it wasn't for his crimes.
