Once I Dreamt Poem by Putus Extraneus

Once I Dreamt

Somethings creeping in the night
Something creeping take to flight
We are darkness in darkness fight
Morning dawn regift our sight
Wander round smokened alleys
Morbid reflections slaves tamed, tallied
Sailors in drag, drag off the dead
Bodies sold the naked wed
Youth traded for addiction
Operations executed unholy abduction
Cities filth curious corruption
Expanded to hearts of an empty land
Weapon welding weak cannot stand
Freewill resigned without complaint
Moment of truth unveiling of saints
As rain stings cold upon the face
Of every human of this vile race
A beast within strikes fear in all
I see his writing across the wall
Written from blood of the purest form
Perhaps a child from a mother torn
I cast my eyes to the sky and pray
Oh God please spirit me away
Then in a cold sweat I awaken
My breath from me taken
That imagination could create such a terror
Then I realized my error
When in the mirror I was seeing
A third kind of being
Not myself but another
Not a friend not lover
But a creature formed from hatred
From every evil that we've meet with
From our cruelty to each other
From the killing of our brother
From the wars raged in Gods name
For those who loved we called insane
Oh what bitter tears I wept in vain
I could not stop what was to be
I could not slow this catastrophe
The world was warned
And now they'll pay
I guess you could call it
Judgment day.
