Once Upon A Time Poem by Josephine Dunn

Once Upon A Time

Rating: 0.5

Once upon a time
We used to lie
Like a pair of spoons
Curled around each other
Like two sardines
Slippery in our sweat
After making love
Nestled together
My head against your chest
Your arm around my waist
Soft curves
Relaxing into sleep.

There is an empty hollow
In my bed
Where you once lay
A cold patch
Next to me
Where there was warmth
A chill draft
Down my neck
Where your breath
Breathed lightly in and out
In time with my heart beat.
