Once Was Devoted Poem by Anderson Romero

Once Was Devoted

Rating: 5.0

You cried for help to get you through your struggles
I came with open arms and a shoulder to lean on
Yet you said no one’s there for you
U asked God for love and I stood before you,
Yet no love came from you
Filled with the feelings of being unappreciated, I spoke to thy
No recognition was processed
Only feelings of her self-centeredness raised
So I walked away
Hoping that in some way it would be the eye opener needed to save this bond which was once great
But I received no reaction, no words
The walk of shame I took, of not being able to save us
As I walked out to the cold wilderness of the streets
The sound of tear drops slapping the window pane is what I left behind
The bang! ! Of the door slamming jump started her heart, that heart that was once beating heavily for me
Suddenly I heard a loud cry in the wind, more chilling than a strike of lightning
More on the verge of the howling of a dying wolf
But I didn’t turn back
I just continued on
