Alejandro Torres (12/24 / Spfld, Ma)
One By One
Watch the stars appear
One by one
Like my tears
Want to set them up
One by one
And drink them down
Til there’s nothing left
Of me
Of you
For me to love
Want to be the Ace in black
Like Johnny
You can be my June
Like that day in July
When out of the blue
You said I love you
And that next night
When I heard your tears fall
One by one
But there have been too many days
Since then and I’ve watched them
Pass
One by one
June was with Johnny
Even when she wasn’t
But you’ve left an ache instead
And I’m fading faster
Than that Ring of Fire
That dyed out when they left
Hitting harder than Folsom Prison blues
Missing my June
Like snow in December
And there wont be a sunny side
To look to
Til you fix the broken circle
And come back
To this black heart-ed fool
So we can go out
Like a modern day
Romeo and Juliet
A modern day
Johnny and June
One by one
In love
Together
