One Can Surely Believe Poem by Francis Duggan

One Can Surely Believe

You may think that better from life you are due
But to your higher self try to remain as true
Do not sacrifice your principles for money and fame
There is more to living of life than these that one can name
There is compassion and kindness and love with others to share
These are gifts that are special and so very rare
If you wish to make large amounts of money do it in the honest way
Dishonesty and deception in the long run does not pay
If the law does not catch up with you karma will one day
What goes around comes around as they does say
And though you feel that life should be better for you
To your higher self do remain as true
Those kind to others in life can expect to receive
That honesty in the long run does pay one can surely believe.
