One city that never slept
Until the day a nation wept
One day of life and love
While God watched from above

Lives were delivered and lives were lost
Never will a life amount to a cost
Men and women in that mess
Still we rise up to stay the best

Coming together as united as can be
But still you stand alone wondering 'how this happened to me'
Listening to cries and listening to screams
Watching smoke coming from the buildings

Asking yourself how and asking yourself why
That the planes fell from the sky
You watch them stand tall and proud
You never thought they fall into a cloud

While God watched from above

Remebering the day of 9-1-1
Watching smoke cover the sun
Remebering the day of 9-1-1
Knowing that WE WILL NEVER RUN
