One Legged Dancer Poem by Ceejon Ezinwoke

One Legged Dancer

A lone foot beneath a joyful soul
Like a boy-master of a macho man
‘Tim tim tim' the thumping goes
Mercilessly on an arid soil
A dance that mocks the curbs of life
Like life was never like said unfair
Greedy for the vibe that is the drums'
Dancing to every sound they dared to lend.
What sort of sorcery could this be?

What is life without a will?
I asked the father of my lovely child
There are more plains than mountains are
And the mountains in minds alone exist
Like a fertile land so is the mind of men
The spineless man's mind is evergreen
Growing with tall NEVERS and NO's as well
The one legged dancer has taught me strength
I shall weed my NO's and plant some YES.
