One Of A Kind Poem by sherrie tappenden

One Of A Kind

Rating: 3.5

she stands closer to the edge than she needs to
just in case there's someone who cares.

she moves further from the centre of the circle
just in case there's someone who stares.

she waits nearer to the break than she should do
in case someone will take her by the hand.

she will slowly leave the room without looking back at you
because you'd never understand.

she steps out into the void and she smiles
because she knows no one will see her fall.

she will gently close the door in your face
just as if she were never there at all.

she shields her eyes
as she desperately tries
to hold together what's left of her mind.
and she cries,
everynight.
helen is one of a kind.

Hi Sherrie, I think this is wonderful - very expressive and sad. How we all feel sometimes
