One Thousand Poem by Doris Cornago

One Thousand

Rating: 5.0

We're caught in a trap we've made
Roping hope with wishes casted
Drew comfort with weary arms
Made bed of the damp floor
Laid on it fragile dreams
Huddled & hungered
Strengthened and
Renewed souls
Made a pact
Never to
Leave
Until
The
Crowd
Chanted
Coliforms
Copypasted
From cobwebs
Rimming the castle
With soiled toilet paper
Escaping to a tower where
Unfettered, comforted myself
Would wait another one thousand

One Thousand

Where do these stairs go? Before yu start climbing out if cutiosity, be sure you have the strength to persevere to reach the top or your effort is useless.
