Opportunity Poem by Timothy Branch

Opportunity

I recall one.
Immaturity and arrogance told me that I was better than that one.
Then another came but this time no one knew my name.
I went and found out no one here cared to know my name.
Then adversity finds me but at that time no one else sought me.
There was one with me but that one could do nothing to ease the pain and anguish of this one.
Stay or go? I go because I realize the granules in my hour glass and semester hours were low.
But lower still my sinful, childish, and immature soul.
Now in fulness of time arises yet again an opportunity.

But this time though passion and zeal to complete the incomplete is raised like the temperature on a summer days sun-kissed concrete.
Visions of the finished work or paint poured intently to bring forth an inspired work.
Now is the time to seize and quiet the noise of a missed opportunity.
