Opposite World Poem by Kevin Patrick

Opposite World

Rating: 3.0

What if there was a world
That was in full reverse
Where flowers pollinated bees
And aliens were the abductees
And vampires came out by day
and children weren't a priest's prey

Maybe there's a world
where generals went over the top
And Robbers went on chasing cops
Where the defendant pleaded for the lawyer
And the judge was hanged by his employer
And the rich were caste into the doghouse
And the president was not a louse

Perhaps there's a world
Of law and order
Where the slave was free to whip his master
And all our leaders weren't bad actors
And woman could walk free through night
And love never fought for equal rights
And everyone who fell through the cracks
Was given some help to watch their backs

And then Maybe there would be a world
Where I finally belonged

And then Maybe there would be a world Where I finally belonged............A thoughtful poem, we know nothing about the mysteries of nature.

A wonderfully written poem. A must read and entertaining write. I would love to see the day when the slaves can whip their master. Onto my Poem List.

A wonderful imaginative write. Unique and highly creative. It made me smile and if we have to ponder about these thoughts, we might have a world that is more kind and full of empathy. Liked the penultimate stanza and the 2 closure lines.
