Our Earth Poem by Will Fiala

Our Earth

Hasn’t our country spun downhill
Isn’t our road regressing
Sing for yourself, I know I will
Conscious minds aren’t resting

Talk with friends and use your head
Of this you can be sure
Change isn’t better if better’s changed to poor
Our earth spins ‘round some more

There was a time when people cared
That’s the dream was told me
Neighbors would be always there
Life was not to hurry

Out the past’s appearing answers
Dogmas closed the doors
‘Heil! ’ to fortunes, commons in their jars
Our earth’s been here before

People get ready there’s a new day ahead
Those days may be smothering to us all
It’s been said that pride comes before that fall
Be right before you’re wrong and heed this call

Congress’ dine on coward’s money
Of this they can be proud
Crushing children’s hopes without a sound
Our earth’s turned upside down

Wasn’t our world so formed by man
Where was the corporation?
Wielding life through its dead hand
Crushing our world’s nation

Know your own and form alliance
Enemy’s not that far
People’s own must rule our treasured shore
Our earth may spin no more

It’s time to take kind to take on the stand
Better days could weigh upon us all
Get off of your fence ‘cause it’s in your hand
The night befalls us all so heed this call

It’s our earth, it’s in our hand
It’s our earth, so take that stand
