Our Hearts' Desires Poem by Robert Katuli

Our Hearts' Desires

To stand before the Heavenly King in awe
And His face to behold.
To see Lucifer shut up in the bottomless pit
As he at last can no more with his lie hit.
To see that fool who has butchered many innocent souls with his steel
Before his Maker trembling on his kneel
As the White Throne Judgement brings him to his heel.
To see those who wish us so bad
Learning their lessons in the way so hard
When they see us still going stronger so fast.
To be with friends so dear
Just when they need us so near
And reciprocate their love in the manner so clear.
To see the oppressed one day on their faces smiles
After walking through many injustices for miles
Even when on their side there was much evidence in the files.
And to witness the oppressors coming to the end of their road
As they no more get revered like a god
When justice finally brings them to their halt.
These, all these, just our–we, the members of this society–hearts’ desires.
