Our Past Our Future Poem by kwane Lamb

Our Past Our Future

My heart is filled with…
The bitter sweetness of…
My past…our past…

I want to change the way…
I smile…
At me and my past…our past

There are things I must…
Not forget as well as…
Forget…

I am a queen from…
My motherland…
Which I am separated from…

And yet…
I am still a queen…your queen
Still the gift…

My respect shell stand…
Know that my black man…
Your hands belong not…

On me in an abusive way…
Loving me is okay…
God created us…

You an I…
For each other…
To respect, love, and built up

One another…
The whole world is our…
Play ground…our living room

Together we are the next…
Ship to the moon…
We are history…

In the making…
My love for you…
Powers me in many ways…
And yet., .
Your disrespect warns me not…
What am I to do…

You can’t keep driving over my foot…
And expect for me…
Not to respond…

I am queen…
Your queen…
And has been from the beginning…

You my dear black male…
Must work on your respect…
Toward me…

For I am you…
I live for you…
I educate myself for you…

You must work to keep…
Me happy…
Respect of me is your first job…

Know that…
And keep me in your bed…
Forget that and we …
WE are DEAD…
