Out Here (Ii) Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Out Here (Ii)

What are you saying?
keep talking my ear off
Never had a problem, who turned the lights off?
i'm caught in the dark, you accusing me of things you assume
if there is love is there anymore room?
when the only time you touch the dial
is when you have me stand before trial
have you made your decision?
you put us in a position
where everyone will be in our business
it's supposed to be you and I
you probably think that means nothing
when you are misguided
cause your hearts divided
you feel no love provided
you the type to know me but your friends won't let up
and you know we have a good thing and when it's this good
there will be people trying to ruin that kind of happiness
because they can not secure that for themselves
but what's between us have nothing to do with the outside world
You shouldn't be inviting them into our life
when it should be just the two of us
When do I have the time to be seen with another
I'm out here trying to make sure I give you the whole world
but you let this same world crumble ours apart
if you want to have a conversation, make sure you cover all the areas of your concerns
I'll tell you everything you need to learn
We are going to war for all the wrong things
when love is not a battleground cause someone always gets hurt
but we can afford to take the time
and we wouldn't want to waste
how to settle the problems
when we have that face to face
