you could just reach for the bottle and swollow
a sip of water to follow
or you could:
stand up and fight this battle
like a farmer hearding cattle
you are who you are
who's dream is owning a car.
take day by day, fighting for your life.
instead of reaching for the knife.
to end your life would admitt defaet
Damn, this poem is great! I have read both parts (What else could I do?) and I don't know if I should enjoy it or be sad.... Anyhow, this is a great poem, no matter what the subject is. By the way, I know how it feels to have someone in your surroundings wanting to commit suicide. Some of my friends are/were extremely depressed and were thinking of committing suicide, but didn't because they have read my poem What to do? . My uncle, on the other hand, did commit suicide recently, which made me extremely sad. I can't express my feelings by crying. I just got very, very quiet. Because my uncle did what he did, I wrote Your choice, but why? , just to have a way I could express how I felt. Rodney
