Parallax Poem by Helen Bauman

Parallax

The world from my eyes
That is so different to the world from
your eyes

How far apart they are.
Without exploring my knowledge
How will you know my reasons?
Do you care about my reasons?

My world from your eyes
Is so different to my world from
My eyes.

Let us extend our dimensions
Break outside our barriers
Travel through unguided space
Penetrate unknown atmospheres;
Ah, the dream of YOU!
You don't even want to try
I think you think you know me.

Am I what you thought I was?
You aren't what I thought you were.

Your world from my eyes
Is so different to your world
From your eyes

And I try to see what you want
But you won't reveal it to anyone
Not even that you don't know
Which wouldn't matter anyway
