Memories fail me now
I can't recall the ghosts of the past
At least I can't be sure
How real they are or were
So many of them were created with those
Who are no longer here to back me up
the mental movies that create my sense of self
Are sketchy mysteries these days
And the projections into the future are less certain too
All I'm sure of anymore is this moment in time
Everything else is a parallel universe
