Paris I Come Poem by BELLO BIDEMI

Paris I Come

Rating: 5.0

Rome was not built in a day I hear
Paris no doubt either judging now by sight
See Paris and die they say
In peace surely I'd rest finally in view
With an ambiance of heavenly beauty and love
And such majestic epitome as the galaxy lights
What is more to live?
In baffle I plunged into profound gaze
Then it echoes - Paris c'est Magique!

Paris is this you
whose bosom France's monumental treasures warmly enclose omitting not the sophisticated Eifel Tower and the iconic Arc de Triomph of martyrdom and victory from the Revolutionary to the Napoleonic?

Paris is this you
the historic Louvre's rest encapsulating the Monalisa, the Venus de Milo, the Eugène Delacroix, the Great Sphinx of Tanis among finest history's art?

Paris is this you
whose thrilling orchestras with music cease never stun and appetizing gastronomy of Baguettes, Fromages, Champignons and Chardonnays devouring provoke?

Paris is this you
whose aesthetic ancient architectures with magnificence and grace grace the sky?

Paris is this you
who as the Kaaba ten million attract; at festivals with vigor mirth and glee and from the streets to the Seine, lustily chanting in the romantic language of love lasses dangle breasts?

Paris is this you
who birthed Edgar Degas, Paul Gauguin, Jacques Louis David and their precious priceless paintings?

Paris is this you
At whose fountain of knowledge, the age-old  Sorbonne, great men from every horizon of earth light and power sought?

Paris is this you
the hometown of Voltaire, Molière, Nadar, Cyrano de Bergerac, George Bizet, Pierre Curie, Antoine Lavoisoir and by whose charm enlightened Europe at the dusk of uncivilisation?

All hail the city of light and love glamorous!
My world cease not ignite as the twilight sheen
A billion miles anew for you I'd pass
Paris pride of Europe; City of dreams I come.
